<p>Saying that it&#8217;s time to move on to other projects while ensuring that <a href="http://www.j-source.ca" target="_blank">J-Source.ca</a> continues &#8220;breathing fresh air,&#8221; the journalism website&#8217;s editor-in-chief, <a href="http://www.ryerson.ca/journalism/facultydirectory/faculty/shapiro.html" target="_blank">Ivor Shapiro</a>, announced his resignation this week, effective in December.</p>
<p>Shapiro, an associate professor at <a href="http://www.ryerson.ca/journalism" target="_blank">Ryerson University&#8217;s School of Journalism</a>, was a driving force in the creation of the Canadian Journalism Project and its websites, J-Source.ca (English) and <a href="http://www.projetj.ca/" target="_blank">ProjetJ.ca</a> (French), three years ago. The list of individual and institutional <a href="http://www.j-source.ca/english_new/page.php?p=9" target="_blank">collaborators</a> has grown steadily over that time.</p>

A search committee, chaired by David Milliken of <a href="http://www.newswire.ca/en/" target="_blank">CNW Group</a>, has been created to seek Shapiro&#8217;s replacement.</p>
